Straight from Smart Girl Politics: KIDS IN POLITICS/KIDS TALK POLITICS As a part of our SGP101 (Smart Girl Politics) education program we have included a series called Kids in Politics. This is specifically directed at teaching our children about politics. The first session is for members who are parents of younger children and is scheduled for June 28th and will include a discussion about ways to teach children about politics and include a guest speaker, Rosa Leonetti, a SGP Member and a NY City School Teacher. By registering for SGP101 you can then sign up for this session.
Depending on the amount of interest of members, we would like to set up future sessions that will include the children in the conference call (with their parents listening in) called Kids Talk Politics. They will be encouraged to ask questions, discuss politics and share their experiences as a Conservative Kid. Very often Conservative Kids feel isolated within the public school system and among their peers. We want them to have a place where they can feel free to express their views without criticism and to know that there are plenty of other children out there who share their views.
We will only set up the Kids Talk Politics sessions if there is enough interest by our membership. So we are asking you to indicate if you would be interested in having your children participate. Please indicate your interest by contacting diann@smartgirlpolitics.org.
