Katie Rosenberg of WAOW reports RNCC Robocalls in Obey Territory

NRCC Targets Congressman Dave Obey

Today the National Republican Congressional Committee sent out robocalls in Congressman Dave Obey’s hometown. The call urges residents to call Mr. Obey and voice disapproval over stimulus spending.

While the NRCC is not technically endorsing a candidate, it’s notable that they are chosing to go after Obey, a 40 year incumbent, holding what’s considered a safe seat. It looks like they think they have a fight with Republican Ashland County District Attorney Sean Duffy.

She recorded the message - in this YouTube clip.

Republican Women add this:

The YouTube recording of the RNCC Robocall states among other things: that Obey has been in Congress over 40 years and is out of touch with Wisconsin workers. While he supports the Stimulus and continued spending, the unemployement rate in the City of Wausau is almost 13%, well above the national average.

The Robocall urges constituents to call Obey's office and ask where the jobs are. 715-842-5606
