Voter ID Debate Resurges

Wisconsin’s Government Accountability Board and Election Administration Council are considering a five-year plan for voting in Wisconsin that will cost taxpayers upwards of $17.2 million and includes controversial changes such as early voting. The Republican Party of Wisconsin has emphasized the need to maintain the integrity of the vote and promotes measures such as Voter ID to ensure no valid votes are cancelled out.

The Wisconsin Federation of Republican Women has also been a leader on the issue of Voter ID measures, and were successful in advocating for the inclusion of Voter ID consideration at the Wisconsin Election Administration Council five-year plan meeting on Tuesday.
