Reminder: Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin receives $12 MILLION of YOUR tax dollars each year. This amount will likely increase since Planned Parenthood was successful in getting their Extreme Sex Ed Bill signed into law last Session.

National School Choice Week EVENTS Jan 26 and Jan 27
call for immediate education reform.
Citizens from across the Northwoods will gather for a screening of the award-winning documentary, The Cartel on January 26, 2011 and January 27, 2011 to commemorate National School Choice Week.
Kim Simac, Founder of The Northwoods Patriots, is confirmed as a speaker at the event. This FREE event, which is sponsored by The Northwoods Patriots, will take place at 7:00 pm at Vilas Theatre at 214 East Wall Street in Eagle River on Wednesday the 26th, and on Thursday the 27th at 7:00pm at the Lakeland Cinema located in Woodruff, Wisconsin.
The Cartel—which portrays a public education system that is beholden to special interests, ignores the needs of parents, and misallocates hundreds of millions of dollars intended to help children—has served as a rallying cry for advocates who want to give parents immediate educational options for their children. The trailer and reviews are available at: http://www.thecartelmovie.com/
National School Choice Week, January 23-29, 2011, will shine an unprecedented spotlight on the need to dramatically improve educational outcomes for children and will highlight the benefits of school choice programs. Tens of thousands of people are expected to participate in events across the country during the week, which is being organized by more than 150 national and state groups.
“This event in Eagle River will continue an important debate on the need to provide parents with access to the best schools for their children,” said Kyle Olson, executive director of National School Choice Week. “At the end of the week, we hope that more parents will begin to demand enhanced educational options for their children and that lawmakers in Wisconsin and across the nation will take notice.”

Protect US food growers / farmers
VOTE ON PASSAGE OF S. 510 THE “FOOD SAFETY BILL”
POSTPONED UNTIL MONDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2010.
In the Senate of the United States, private food producers were spared the axe last night.
America spoke again last night and the Senate attempted to salvage bad legislation that would “preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes.”
S 510 puts all US food and all US farms under Homeland Security and the Department of Defense, in the event of contamination or emergency.
At 6:30 E. S. T. the senate set off final the vote until Monday, November 29th

Sarah Palin: Redefining Feminism, by Rachel Campos-Duffy
If the current pace continues, Sarah Palin’s Going Rogue is on track to become perhaps the best-selling nonfiction book ever. The extraordinary, record-breaking rollout and the throngs of fans who await Sarah at every stop of her nationwide bus tour is rivaled only by the endless succession of liberal talking heads who are willing to put aside years of carefully cultivated gender sensitivity in an attempt to finish off a job they had hoped they had taken care of last year – or at least in the last two months of granting Levi Johnston full access to the most coveted media outlets.
When Tina Brown laughs and defends Newsweek’s indefensible cover photo of the former governor in running shorts to Matt Lauer on The Today Show, and Naomi Wolfe on Larry King calls Palin “Evita” and a “Geisha” and accuses the fiercely independent Alaskan Governor of being the “muse” and “telegenic figurehead” of a Cheney/Rove/Haliburton cabal, you know there’s more fear than loathing in the liberal and feminist ranks.
So what exactly is the liberal feminist establishment afraid of? Back in the fall of 2008, many conservatives theorized that it all came down to abortion. That a baby-wielding, pro-life VP candidate would re-ignite a debate feminists prefer to believe is settled and that the very sight of baby Trig on the hip of the beautiful and confident Sarah Palin on the night of her pitch-perfect speech at the Republican National Convention caused an unsettling degree of national guilt and unwanted introspection for a society that aborts close to 90% of all babies diagnosed with Downs Syndrome. But I believe that the seething and obsession with all things Palin is bigger and deeper than even abortion.
What is really at the heart of the unrelenting vitriol and paranoia came to light rather innocuously in the celebrity style, soft-focus Oprah interview. In fact, the offending comment was so casually and organically delivered, that as far as I can tell, the chattering class, normally so quick to pounce on the slightest hint of mommy-war fodder, especially from someone as reviled by the left as Sarah Palin, did not picked up on the comment. Near the end of the interview, in a gracious moment of praise and admiration for her host, Sarah recalled the days when she watched the Oprah Show more regularly, “back when I was a stay-at-home mom in the 90s”. That’s right, back when I was a stay-at-home-mom. When have we ever heard those words come out of the mouth of a female politician, much less one who is a possible contender for the highest office in the land?

WI Sex Ed Bill -- Needs Our Attention Now!
Kim just talked to Julaine from the Wisconsin Family Council and the triumph in the state yesterday over the sex ed bill was not a win. It was just tabled until Thursday. She feels there will be almost no way to win as the Dem simply outnumber the Rep. The vote is 10am THURSDAY. Please flood

Key Concerns With Planned Parenthood’s School-Based Sex Ed Bill:
Background Concerns:
1) Planned Parenthood, again the state’s largest abortion provider is fully supporting Assembly Bill 458 that would apply to Kindergarten to 12th Grade.
Planned Parenthood’s 2009 Legislative Agenda
2) The two main authors of the bill, Senator Lena Taylor (D-Milwaukee) and Representative Tamara Grigsby (D-Milwaukee) were endorsed by Planned Parenthood. (If you will recall from the 2007-08 Session, these were the same two legislators who tried to mandate the controversy-ridden HPV(e.g. Gardasil) vaccine for all of
3) The more sexually active youth there are in this state results in increased revenue for groups like Planned Parenthood. Last year, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin received $12.1 MILLION of our state and federal tax dollars from such programs as Title V, Title X, BadgerCare and the Family Planning Waiver.
4) Wis. Statute 948.02(2) states that it is a Class C Felony for anyone to have sexual contact or engage in sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years of age. The penalty for this offense is “a fine of up to $100,000 or imprisonment up to 40 years or both.”
5) Teens can be placed on Wisconsin’s Sex Offender Registry.
6) 17 year olds are charged as adults for most crimes in
Specific Parents’ Rights Concerns With Assembly Bill 458
1) Assembly Bill 458 eliminates Abstinence-Centered instruction in
2) (Page 4 – Lines 2-12) – Allows Planned Parenthood to define key terms such as “Medically Accurate Information” and “Age Appropriate” in our state statutes. This is a very dangerous practice – for teens, parents, and taxpayers.
3) (Page 4 – Lines 14-15) – Assembly Bill 458 applies to grades Kindergarten to 12. After reviewing Planned Parenthood’s offensive website for teens, imagine what type of instruction Planned Parenthood would design for 5 year olds.
3) (Page 5 – line 18) - Assembly Bill 458 will promote homosexuality to captive teen audiences.
4) (Page 5 – Line 19) - Assembly Bill 458 will place a stamp of approval on teen promiscuity and place abstinence supporters holding Christian values in a less-than-favorable position in the classroom.
5) (Page 3, Lines 2-5) – Assembly Bill mandates the state to apply for federal tax dollars to fund Planned Parenthood-style teen pregnancy programs. Is this the prelude to establishing taxpayer-funded sex clinics in
6) (Page 5 – Lines 23-24) – Assembly Bill 458 will force the promotion of counseling by various entities – some of which may not be family friendly. What is Planned Parenthood’s definition of “violent relationship?” Are parents creating a “violent relationship” by not allowing their 15 year old daughter to visit a Planned Parenthood clinic? Would you trust your family’s safety to our politically correct legal and social services system?
7) (Page 4, Line 11) – Assembly Bill 458 recognizes the American Medical Association “as a leading professional organization.” A large segment of the public does not realize that only 20% of all medical doctors in the entire US maintain membership in the American Medical Association. Embracing extreme liberal views as the AMA has in the last decade likely explains the lack of full support by members of the medical community.
American Medical Association overhauls its image in new marketing effort.
AMA: Membership Bounces Back Slightly
8) (Page 4, Lines 2-12) - AB 458 usurps local control. Parents and locally-elected school board members know how best to serve the needs of their community without Planned Parenthood’s influence.
9) (Page 7, Lines 2-4) - AB 458 also puts sex health volunteers under the volunteer health provider category in the state statutes, which exempts them from liability. This means that Planned Parenthood’s classroom marketing personnel would be entitled to receive legal coverage from a taxpayer-funded lawyer should any teens be harmed and parents file a lawsuit. Imagine tax dollars paying Planned Parenthood's legal bills.

Wisconsin Ponders Replacing Abstinence-Only Program with Contraceptive Sex Ed
Time is short they vote Tues Nov 3 in the assembly. Will all of our youth k-12 be gradually indoctrinated with increased intensity at each upper grade level in casual sex, how to obtain and use reproductive services and devices, the gay agenda, and in state confidentiality laws understanding the parents are taken out of the equation? Garbage in the brain Garbage out. The destruction of the Judeo Christian ethic/family........"
Wisconsin Ponders Replacing Abstinence-Only Program with Contraceptive Sex Ed
By Kathleen Gilbert
MADISON, Wisconsin
October 30, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com)
- A law set for consideration in the Wisconsin state legislature aims to replace the abstinence-only curriculum used in the state's public schools with one that educates students on the use of condoms and contraceptives.
The Healthy Youth Act (AB-458 and SB-324), introduced by Democrat state Rep. Tamara Grigsby and Sen. Lena Taylor last month, aims to establish a contraceptive-promoting state curriculum for all schools that have a Human Growth and Development Program. The curriculum is billed as giving "age-appropriate, medically accurate information" on how to prevent unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease.
Under current Wisconsin law, public school sex ed classes are abstinence-based. The new law would most immediately affect the approximately six in ten public schools currently using a sex education program, according to the Pierce County Herald.
The Assembly Education Committee on Tuesday voted to recommend the Healthy Youth Act on an 8-5 party-line vote, and is now set to be scheduled for debate on the Assembly floor. The Senate Education Committee held a hearing on the bill on Thursday. Both chambers are controlled by Democrats.
Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin lauded the bill.
"Abstinence just does not work to change teen behavior. Studies have concluded that," said Chris Taylor, public policy director for Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin.
But local pro-life groups, including Pro-life Wisconsin, Wisconsin Family Action, and Wisconsin Right to Life, argue that the legislation would not stem the state's rising pregnancy and STD rates, but only increase the number of unwanted pregnancies and abortions.
Wisconsin Right to Life legislative director Susan Armacost told legislators in a memo that the bill "would require that students be taught about a number of activities that could endanger their health and could result in a growing number of teen sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancies and abortions."
"It's going to be an uphill battle," Matt Sande, the legislative director of Pro-Life Wisconsin, told LifeSiteNews.com (LSN). "We're hopeful that some of the more moderate Senate Democrats will see that this is overkill, it's a one-size-fits-all mandate that violates the principle of local control."
Said Sande: "It's not just talking about [contraception], it's actually very precise instruction on how to use it. Make no mistake, there are going to be nurses up there demonstrating how to use this contraception. It'll be graphic."
The Assembly bill also stresses that the program must not "promote bias against pupils of any race, gender, sexual orientation ... or against sexually active pupils."
In testimony against the Senate bill at a public hearing Thursday, Sande pointed out that the measure would allow physicians and nurses visiting schools under the Volunteer Health Provider Program to discuss reproductive health - a topic that was previously disallowed. This, he said, would leave children vulnerable to Planned Parenthood employees advocating contraception and abortion in schools.
