Guest Speaker Terri McCormick Spoke at Dinner Meeting Nov 12

Nov 12 at Eagle River Inn we held our November Membership Meeting. Kim Simac began the evening with discussions about two recent conventions she attended: the Values Voter Summit in Washington DC and the Wisconsin Federation of Republican Women's Convention held this fall. She was impressed by both events and felt the Republican Women of Wisconsin were right on target in their initiatives.

Meg Cankor then spoke of her experience at the Wisconsin Right-to-Life Fundraiser with Sarah Palin last week. Meg, Kim and other Patriots attended that event and were truly impressed by Palin as she spoke about her family, faith and country.

After a delicious dinner served at the Eagle River Inn, our guest speaker, Terri McCormick, took the floor. As award-winning author of her new book, "What Sex is a Republican? Stories from the Front Lines in American Politics, and What You Can Do to Change the Way Things Are," she explained the political process and the need for populist representation in government. She described how the political elite control the agendas and how we can change the way things are by gathering at the grassroots level, contacting our representatives, researching candidates and voting!

McCormick was asked about what drives her in public service and she explained her core values of opportunity, education and free-enterprise, and how each relates to her approach to problem-solving. She signed a number of books for attendees who purchased one last evening.

Thanks to Terri McCormick and all who attended for a great evening!
